It supports encoding in H.264, H.265, and MJPEG at 4K/30FPS, 1080P/60FPS. Computer vision features include warp, resize, crop via , , and , with the ability to .

It offers stereo depth perception with , , and high . Object tracking includes 2D and 3D tracking via the node.

We suggest following for smooth experience.

Key Features

RVC2 architecture on-board features:
  • 4 TOPS of processing power (1.4 TOPS for AI - )
  • Run any AI model, even custom architected/built ones (models need to )
  • Encoding: H.264, H.265, MJPEG - 4K/30FPS, 1080P/60FPS
  • Computer vision: warp (undistortion), resize, crop via node, , . You can also
  • Stereo depth perception with filtering, , , and high
  • Object tracking: 2D and 3D tracking with node
Specification
  • Dimensions: 125x63x34 mm (with heatsink)
  • Weight: 81g (PCBA with heatsink)
Power and data
  • Power consumption: up to 5.5W
  • Passthrough Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) power source
  • Gigabit ethernet for data
  • USB 3.1 Gen1 Type-C for data (see technical details)

Note: It is not possible to power the OAK-FFC-4P-POE via the USB-C connector. So to connect through the USB-C, you will need to power via RJ45 (POE).

Compatible Camera Modules

Note: Please take note that the manual calibration is needed when the camera modules are connected. Please follow the .

PoE (Power-over-Ethernet)

This device also supports PoE passthrough, so you can daisy chain multiple OAK-FFC 4P PoE boards. As the chip is PoE 802.3af, it can supply up to 15.4W of power, which means you can connect up to 3 devices in a row (as each consumes ~5W of power).
Note that if you have longer cables and/or utilize all available computation (NN, Stereo, CV, video encoder, CPU, etc.), it might be that you could only connect 2 devices in a row.

Integrated IMU

This OAK camera has an integrated BNO085, a 9-axis IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit). See for the API details on how to use it.

Power consumption

Most of the power is consumed by the RVC2, so the power consumption mostly depends on the workload of the VPU:

  • Base consumption camera streaming: 2.5W - 3W
  • PoE circuitry: 0.5W
  • AI subsystem consumption: Up to 1W
  • Stereo depth pipeline subsystem: Up to 0.5W
  • Video Encoder subsystem: Up to 0.5W

So the total power consumption can be up to ~5.5W if you are using all the features at 100% at the same time. To reduce the power consumption, you can reduce FPS of the whole pipeline - that way, subsystems won’t be utilized at 100% and will consume less power.

Temperature

The ambient operating temperature of RVC2 based devices is between -20°C and 50°C when fully utilizing the VPU. To find out more, see our
